Banksia baxteri Bird's Nest Banksia |
The flower color is a unique lemon yellow hemispherical head, whereas most banksia flowers appear as cylindrical spikes. Bloom season is summer and fall and it forms a medium-sized mature shrub to 9'. The leaves are 10 cm (4") long and have toothed edges. This is a West Australia species that responds to light pruning only. This is a common species in the Fitzgerald River National Park.
