Menzies' Banksia

 

This is a West Australia species found along the coastal ranges of Perth.  It is can form a tall shrub or small tree to 20'.  A pink flowering species often cultivated for the cut flower market.  The flower color can range from pink to red to silver.  It is suggested to use the limestone underlay and provide excellent drainage.

DO NOT FERTILIZE WITH PHOSPHOROUS FERTILIZERS!

*Sow seed 1/8" deep in well drained media.  Give preventive fungicidal drench.  Germinate 3-12 weeks at 64 - 80 degrees F.
