Lambertia formosa

Honey Flower, Mountain Devil

Description: Native in the New South Wales area, this erect shrub to 9' has dark green narrow leaves and beautiful bright red flowers appear throughout the year. I saw this growing in the Blue Mountains area, should prove to be rather cold hardy. Prefers well-drained soil in sunny position. Supplement with an application of bone meal to promote rapid growth.
