Uncinata - Hook-leaved mallee: West Australia mallee to 16', (usually a tree to 21'), connate leaves, glaucous juvenile leaves, yellow-green adult leaves, white flowers.  Zone 9.  15" annual rainfall.
  Urceolaris - See E. piperita
Urnigera - Urn gum: Common name derived from the urn shaped pods. Smooth, gray, yellow, green, red, brown bark. Small bluish foliage, white stems, very pretty. Variable size from 20-45', suitable for containers when pruned. Tasmania. Zone 8.
  V
  Vernicosa - Varnished gum: Very shrub-like, small shiny leathery leaves with short points, very cold and snow tolerant. Tasmania. Zone 8, perhaps colder.

 

 

Viminalis - Manna Gum, Ribbon Gum: Fast growing to 98' with slender, ribbon-like leaves. Found throughout most all of Australia.  Zone 8.  Annual rainfall 20" minimum.  The most common tree for Koala browse. 
Viridis - Green mallee: 26-32' with white flowers. Used for oil production. Rough, fibrous, bark ribbons. South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland.  Zone 8.  12" annual rainfall.

  Websteriana - Webster's mallee, Dainty mallee or Heart-leaved mallee. Slender tree to 18' branching from ground level, curling reddish-brown (minniritchi) bark.  Bluish green, heart-shaped leaves used in floristry. Lemon yellow flowers, quite attractive species. West Australia.  Zone 9.  10" annual rainfall.
Woodwardii - Lemon-flowered mallee: Large yellow flowers, West Australia from the Karonie area. Successfully cultivated in arid areas, mallet to 10 m. Zone 9.  10" annual rainfall.
  E. woodwardii x torquata - see Eucalyptus ''Torwood' Hybrid cross between E. woodwardii and E. torquata.
